Hello gamers! Its Endless Electronics, the leaders in PS3 repair here to speak on an issue with you really quick. Its true, we get a ton of YLOD issues with the systems that are sent to us. Its the biggest problem that we see here in our warehouse. We fix them for our customers and get them back. But at times when we are talking to them about the fix, we try and offer other services to help with the repair and people think that we are just trying to upsell them so they can spend more money…
…this is not the case.
See, YLOD issues come from overheating on the system end. So while fixing the YLOD is simple, you leaving it at that is not fixing your overheating issues. So you run risk of a perfectly good repair, dealing with your overheated system, and possibly damaging the repair work we just did. Which makes you have to possibly send the system back for a warranty repair, and that isnt good for either one of us.
While we have our packages like the Component Upgrade Package, and The Works that both can decrease the heat in your system greatly, we do offer all of the things in those packages seperately.
So doing something just as simple as getting an ultra sonic cleaning service ordered (which is only $15), or thermal pads replaced (only $20) will have your system running much cooler. Or replacing your original power supply ($30) which is the biggest reason why the system runs as hot as it does helps majorly. Just something to consider when you have YLOD issues, always remember it happens because of overheating. This information will keep you from more possible headaches down the road.
